Technology Classrooms on Campus

(Click here for list of technology classrooms)

Portland State University has three levels of technology within instructional
classrooms:

• No-tech
• Mid-tech
• High-tech

A no-tech classroom is equipped with a white board or black board, an overhead transparency projector, and a pull-down projection screen. In order to use technology in these rooms, users must reserve and pick up all equipment, including a digital video projector and speakers, in the AV Services office.

A mid-tech classroom is equipped with a white board or black board, an overhead transparency projector, a ceiling-mounted digital video projector, wall-mounted speakers, a pull-down projection screen, and mid-tech wall input panel. In order to use technology in these rooms, users must reserve and pick up equipment such as laptops and DVD players to plug into the mid-tech wall panel.Click on the following link for our mid-tech how- to guide.

A high-tech classroom is equipped with a pull-down or electric projection screen, a ceiling-mounted digital video projector, wall-mounted speakers, an instructor's podium or desk, a PC, a DVD/VCR player, and many also have a document camera. In order to use the technology in these rooms, users need not reserve any extra equipment, however they must be trained in order to gain access to rooms with touch-screen control panels. E-mail av@pdx.edu to schedule a short training session.
