High-Tech Classroom
High-tech rooms contain all of the equipment most people require to teach a class. High-technology classrooms have a pull-down or electric projection screen, ceiling- mounted digital video projector, wall-mounted speakers, an instructor's desk or podium with built-in PC, DVD player, VHS player, and many also have a document camera. Some of our largest high-tech rooms also have touch-screen control panels and a wireless lavaliere microphone.
It is highly recommended that you arrange a short training session once you
find out which high-tech classroom you are assigned to. If the room has a
touch panel control screen, you must be trained to receive the password.
To use PowerPoint or project some other computer presentation, you will not
need any additional equipment. If you plan to connect your own laptop, you
will need:
• VGA cable
• DVI to VGA adapter (if using Mac laptop)
To show a movie, you just bring the DVD disc or VHS tape with you. If
you plan to show a foreign DVD, you will have to use the DVD drive in the
resident PC and play your movie through the provided VLC media player software.
